A delegation from the Sunni area of Shimla-Rural Assembly constituency, led by Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, met Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at his official residence on Friday (January 3, 2025).
The delegation expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for approving the long-standing demand for the establishment of an SDM office in Sunni.
Chief Minister Sukhu confirmed that the demand for the SDM office had been approved in the recent Cabinet meeting, aiming to address the administrative needs of the region. The new office will serve as an important administrative centre for the residents of Sunni, ensuring better governance and easier access to government services.
The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to ensuring equitable development across Himachal Pradesh, with special attention to rural areas. He emphasised that the decision to sanction the SDM office was a part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen rural administration.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Principal Adviser to the Chief Minister (Media) Naresh Chauhan, various panchayat representatives from Sunni, and other dignitaries were also present during the meeting. The decision has been hailed as a positive step toward the overall development of the region, with the people of Sunni expressing their appreciation for the government’s support.
