Kangra: The Himachal Pradesh government has initiated a major step in the Gaggal Airport expansion project by starting the distribution of relief and rehabilitation award notices to affected residents of Gaggal village. The process began today at the Gram Panchayat Gaggal building.
Project Coordinator Ranjit Thakur informed that the distribution will be carried out in phases. In the first phase, notices are being issued to those whose land alone has been acquired for the project. Subsequently, the process for displaced families will be taken forward as per rules.
Thakur stated that a total of 460 award notices have been prepared for land-only cases, and distribution commenced today. The awards will be handed out over a period of five days to ensure all affected individuals receive their notices.
The expansion of Kangra Airport has already seen compensation distributed for land and buildings, and this latest step marks progress in providing relief and rehabilitation to the project-affected families.
