Himachal Pradesh Congress spokesperson Puneet Malli strongly condemned the police action during the Congress protest in New Delhi, calling it an attempt to suppress democratic voices. He demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing moral responsibility.

Malli said that India’s youth are raising concerns about their future, employment, and the education system, but instead of dialogue, the central government is resorting to repression. He highlighted that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi himself joined the protest to support students, yet peaceful demonstrators were met with police force — an act he described as “unfortunate and shameful.”

He stressed that protest is a constitutional right and cannot be curtailed through lathis or police action. Referring to the widespread anger over the NEET examination system, Malli accused the government of evading accountability while students feel betrayed.

According to him, the movement is gaining momentum across villages and towns, with youth stepping forward to demand their rights. He alleged that the BJP’s policies have eroded public trust and that people now recognize the party’s “real face.”

Malli reiterated that when the education system is under serious question, the Union Education Minister has no moral justification to remain in office. He affirmed that the Congress Party stands firmly with students and youth, pledging to continue opposing any attempt to suppress their voices through democratic and constitutional means.
