In 2024, law enforcement agencies in Dharampur subdivision of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh carried out significant operations against drug trafficking, excise violations and illegal mining.
Under the NDPS Act, 15 cases were registered, leading to the seizure of 1.008 kg of cannabis, 642 grams of opium and 20.91 grams of heroin.
In addition, 37 cases were registered under the Excise Act, with authorities confiscating 9,375 litres of illicit liquor, 1,407.1 litres of country made liquor, 89.625 litres of English liquor and 7.8 litres of beer.
A crackdown on illegal mining resulted in 149 challans being issued and a compounding fee of Rs 5.34 lakh being collected. This decisive action marks a significant step towards ensuring law and order in the region.
