Ahead of the monsoon season, the Dalhousie Municipal Council has initiated a special campaign to clean city drains and ensure smooth water flow. Acting on the directions of Council President Vandana Chadda, sanitation workers are removing silt, mud, and garbage from drains across wards and major roads.
The primary aim of the drive is to prevent waterlogging, foul conditions, and inconvenience to residents during heavy rains. The collected debris is being promptly lifted to maintain efficiency. Sensitive areas of the town are under special watch, with necessary resources deployed to tackle possible monsoon challenges.
President Vandana Chadda emphasized that the council’s goal is to complete cleaning of all drains before the rains begin. She appealed to citizens not to throw waste into drains and to cooperate in keeping Dalhousie clean and safe. She added, “Clean drains, safe Dalhousie” is the council’s commitment to face every monsoon challenge.
