The Kangra Valley Rail Struggle Committee today formally submitted a memorandum of demands and concerns to the Prime Minister’s Office and the Railway Minister’s Office through an important delegation.
The memorandum was handed over by Mr. Deepak Bhardwaj, member of the Railway Consultative Committee, Northern Railway. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhardwaj emphasized that the Kangra Rail Struggle Committee has been consistently working in the public interest with full commitment to preserve this historic railway heritage of the region.
He further stated that ever since becoming a member of the Railway Consultative Committee, the Kangra Railway and the Chakki Bridge have remained his top priorities. He has raised this issue at every level, even requesting Members of Parliament to submit questions in the Lok Sabha regarding the matter.
Mr. Bhardwaj highlighted that the Struggle Committee has not only mobilized strong public support at the grassroots level but has also sent a powerful message to future generations that collective efforts are essential to safeguard heritage.
The primary objective of this representation is to protect the historic Kangra Valley Rail Line of Himachal Pradesh and to demand necessary measures for its strengthening and development. This rail line is not merely a mode of transport but also an integral part of the state’s cultural and historical heritage.
The Committee expressed hope that the voices of Himachal Pradesh residents, media partners, and all those tirelessly working to save the Kangra Railway will effectively reach the government. They are confident that the Central Government will recognize the seriousness of this issue and take positive decisions regarding the Kangra Railway at the earliest.
The Committee reaffirmed its commitment to continue raising this issue among the masses and to take all necessary steps for its preservation.
