The opposition has come under fire for allegedly exploiting student protests over paper leak incidents to serve political interests rather than cooperating with the government to safeguard examinations.
Records show that during Congress rule in Rajasthan, 17 paper leaks occurred, while opposition-led governments witnessed over 100 such incidents without taking action or even acknowledging them.
In contrast, the Modi government swiftly ensured the arrest of 13 accused in the NEET paper leak case, conducted a transparent re-examination on time, and announced the establishment of fast-track courts. Prime Minister Modi has pledged strict measures against future offenders involved in paper leaks.
Speaking in Delhi, BJP MP Anurag Thakur remarked: “On one side, there is an opposition, which wants to make political gains on the shoulders of the youth, and on the other side there are protesters, who want more transparency in the examination process, do not want any future paper leaks, and want strict action against the current paper leak. As far as the NEET paper leak is concerned, the 13 culprits have been arrested and sent to jail. Now, Prime Minister Modi has also talked about setting up a fast-track court to ensure that they get the harshest punishment soon.”
