Former BDC member of Garola-Ulansa Panchayat and Project Advisory Committee member Pawan Kumar Sharma met Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur during his visit to Bhramour. He presented a memorandum highlighting several issues concerning the Government Senior Secondary School, Garola, along with proposals passed by the School Management Committee.
Key Demands and Issues Raised
- Introduction of Medical Faculty (Biology): Currently, the school offers only non-medical subjects. Students from Garola and nearby schools (Ulansa, Durgethi, Chanhouta, and Adarsh Modern Public High School Garola) must travel long distances to study medical subjects, facing financial and geographical hardships. Starting medical classes locally would provide quality education within the region.
- Playground Expansion: With around 170 students enrolled, the existing playground is too small to conduct prayer assemblies and sports activities. Expansion was requested.
- Safety Concerns: A past landslide near the school building has left the structure vulnerable. The proposed protective wall has not yet been completed, and urgent construction was sought.
- Access Road Construction: The school is located about 200 meters from the main road, making it difficult to transport heavy materials. A connecting road was requested for ease of access.
The School Management Committee urged the Education Minister to consider these proposals sympathetically and ensure timely action for the benefit of students and the community.
