Adopting a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics networks, Nurpur Police today demolished the house of a drug accused that had been illegally constructed on government land. The action was carried out under the state government’s strict directives as part of the ongoing special campaign against drug trafficking.
The demolition pertains to FIR No. 270/24 registered at Police Station Nurpur against accused Bunty. Investigations revealed that the property was allegedly built using proceeds from heroin trafficking. Following identification by the Revenue Department confirming that the structure encroached upon government land, the police, in compliance with due legal process, razed it today.
Second Major Action in a Week This marks the second major crackdown within a week. Earlier, on May 14, the house of Sukhdev Singh of Damtal was similarly demolished for being linked to drug trafficking proceeds.
The initiative aligns with directions issued by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the recent state-level NCORD meeting, calling for decisive measures against drug traffickers and their illegally acquired assets.
Nurpur Police reiterated its commitment to continue such stringent legal actions against drug peddlers and to work towards building a drug-free society.
