Bharmour: A 36-year-old woman from the tribal region of Bharmour in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh lost her life after being struck on the head by a falling rock.
The victim, identified as Usha Devi, wife of Jeet Ram and a resident of Pulan village in Pulan panchayat, was returning home around 11 am on Thursday (May 8, 2025) after leaving her cattle in the fields.
The incident occurred at a location known as Gaddha Nullah, where a loose stone reportedly hit her on the head, resulting in her death on the spot. Her family members rushed her to Bharmour Civil Hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
Pulan panchayat pradhan Anita Kapoor informed the Bharmour administration and the local police about the incident. Police took custody of the body and after conducting a postmortem at Bharmour Civil Hospital, they handed it over to the family.
Bharmour Tehsildar Tej Raj said the administration had provided an immediate relief amount of Rs 25,000 to the bereaved family.
