Review of Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Emphasis on Cooperative Initiatives

Lok Sabha MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at Bachat Bhawan, reviewing the progress of centrally sponsored schemes and issuing necessary directions to officials.
Dr. Bhardwaj highlighted the importance of the cooperative sector in generating self‑employment opportunities and strengthening the rural economy. He instructed officials to ensure effective and timely implementation of cooperative schemes and to connect more people with cooperative institutions to expand livelihood options.
During the meeting, he reviewed progress under various development projects including the Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, National Health Mission, PM Adarsh Gram Yojana, social pension schemes, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Samagra Shiksha, and MPLAD.
Dr. Bhardwaj stressed that bringing the Chakki–Chamba–Bharmaur National Highway under NHAI would accelerate double‑lane work and improve road connectivity. He also expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work under the centrally funded RDSS scheme for strengthening the district’s power supply, directing RVNL to expedite tasks. He reminded that ₹90 crore is being invested under RDSS and benefits must reach people on time.
He further directed officials to submit the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Ravi Riverfront development plan to the central government through the state, assuring support for required funding.
MLAs Dr. Hans Raj and D.S. Thakur were present along with senior officials from multiple departments. Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal welcomed participants and shared updates on administrative efforts.
