Spiritual gathering on September 26-27 to celebrate Baba’s message of love, service, peace and universal brotherhood; participation of devotees and 408 revered deities expected
The historic town of Mandi, known for its deep-rooted spiritual and Dev tradition, is all set to host a grand two-day spiritual gathering on September 26 and 27 to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Being organised as ‘Dev Samagam – a divine expression of gratitude’, the event is being presented as a celebration of spirituality, collective prayer, devotion and selfless service. The programme will also mark the culmination of the 50-day divine journey of Sri Sathya Sai Prem Pravahinis in Himachal Pradesh, undertaken to take Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s message of love and service to people across the state.
The organisers said the gathering in Mandi is intended to express gratitude towards the spiritual traditions and divine heritage of Himachal Pradesh while bringing together devotees, spiritual seekers and service volunteers.
A major feature of the programme will be the participation of 408 revered deities, reflecting the unique Dev Sanskriti of Himachal Pradesh. The organisers believe the presence and blessings of the Dev Shakti will make the occasion spiritually significant for devotees attending the gathering.
The two-day event will focus on the timeless values associated with Sri Sathya Sai Baba — truth, righteousness, peace, love, compassion and selfless service. His teachings emphasised the unity of humanity and the idea that service to fellow human beings is an expression of spiritual practice.
The event will also highlight Baba’s larger message of universal brotherhood, including the principles that there is one human family, one universal language of the heart and one Divine presence.
The 50-day Sri Sathya Sai Prem Pravahini journey in Himachal Pradesh formed an important part of the centenary celebrations. Five Prem Pravahinis carrying the message of Sri Sathya Sai Baba travelled from Prashanti Nilayam in Andhra Pradesh to different parts of India, with the Himachal Pradesh leg taking the message of love, service and human unity to different districts of the state.
According to the organisers, the journey has been aimed at spreading Baba’s message among people and inspiring them to make love, selfless service and righteous living an integral part of their lives.
The programme also acknowledges the contribution of devotees, volunteers, spiritual workers and well-wishers whose participation helped in carrying forward the divine journey in Himachal Pradesh.
Mandi, described as the historic Mandavya Nagari and ‘Chhoti Kashi’, has been chosen as the setting for the concluding spiritual gathering. The organisers said the town’s centuries-old Dev tradition and spiritual heritage make it a fitting venue for an event centred on gratitude, devotion and universal welfare.
The two-day Dev Samagam will seek to take forward a broader message: that spirituality should not remain confined to prayer but should find expression through compassion, service and concern for society.
The organisers have invited devotees and people from across Himachal Pradesh to participate in the September 26-27 gathering and become part of the centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
