MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj inaugurates optical fiber expansion work at Kariya; rural youth to gain new opportunities in education, skill development, and employment

In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India, the BharatNet project has begun expanding modern optical fiber connectivity to 303 panchayats across Chamba district. This ambitious initiative aims to deliver fast and reliable internet services to remote rural areas, strengthening digital access for education, healthcare, training, and online services.
The project is expected to open new doors for rural youth, enabling them to pursue online education, skill development, digital training, employment, and self‑employment opportunities without leaving their villages.
The network expansion work in Chamba will be executed by Hyderabad‑based SNR EDATAS Private Limited, which will oversee implementation and fiber rollout. With this, the district’s far‑flung villages are set to gain momentum in digital inclusion, bridging the gap between rural and urban communities while empowering youth with modern technology.
The launch event was attended by BSNL’s senior officials including Dr. Vipin Kumar Maurya (Senior General Manager), Jagatamba Prasad (Deputy General Manager), Pawan Kumar (Chief Accounts Officer), Ram Kishore Kachhap (Additional General Manager, ITI), Rajiv Jagtap (Deputy General Manager), and advisors Kamal Kumar and Rajesh Sharma.
From SNR EDATAS Private Limited, General Manager Sunil Kumar, Project Manager Adil, Brijesh, and other company officials and staff were also present.
