MANDI: The picturesque valley of Kullu is poised to transform into a vibrant epicentre of creativity as the Himachal International Film & Art Festival (HIFAF) returns for its second edition from June 13 to 15, 2025. Organised by the Soch Foundation, the much-anticipated cultural extravaganza was formally announced at a press conference by foundation founders Raja Singh Malhotra and Anurag Vashisht.


Set against the scenic backdrop of the Devlok Campus, 15 Miles, Kullu-Manali, HIFAF 2025 aims to celebrate the power of storytelling through cinema, music, and visual arts while spotlighting the talent of emerging artists and creators.

Over 50 films to be screened, including Global & Indie Gems

This year’s film showcase boasts a thoughtfully curated lineup of over 50 films from India and around the world—many of which remain unseen on commercial platforms. Among the highlights:
• A Fly on the Wall by Sonali Bose
• Second Chance by Subhadra Mahajan
• Delhi Daak by Diwakar Das Roy
• Bunnyhood by Mansi Maheshwari, which comes to HIFAF directly after its Cannes screening
In a nostalgic tribute to Indian cinema, evergreen classics like Mirch Masala and Guide will also be screened during the evening slots, inviting audiences to relive the golden era. Daily screenings will take place from 11 AM to 6 PM.

Empowering young minds through hands-on workshops

One of the key highlights of HIFAF 2025 is its educational outreach to over 600 school students from Kullu and nearby regions, including Sheubagh and Jana. With the support of experts and a special team from the National School of Drama (NSD), interactive workshops will be conducted on:
• Body movement and expression
• Acting and theatre
• Dance and fashion design
• Filmmaking using mobile phones
• Basic cinematography and camera skills

These immersive sessions aim to introduce students to the world of storytelling while nurturing their artistic confidence.

Evenings of Indie Music Amidst the Hills

As the sun sets over the Himalayas, the festival grounds will come alive with soulful live music from India’s top independent artists, including:
• Bharat Chauhan
• Osho Jain
• Salman Elahi
• Vismay Patel
• Dream Not Band

Each performance is set to blend seamlessly with the valley’s serene atmosphere, offering attendees an unforgettable experience of rhythm and reflection.

Star Power & Industry Icons to Grace the Festival

The three-day celebration will also see the participation of celebrated names from the world of cinema and literature, such as:
• Adil Hussain
• Raghuvir Yadav
• Deepti Naval
• Ketan Mehta
• Anand Patwardhan
