Dalhousie Cantonment Board Organizes Successful Blood Donation Camp on the Eve of World Blood Donor Day

Dalhousie:` To promote public service and voluntary blood donation, the Dalhousie Cantonment Board organized a blood donation camp today at Blooming Buds Cantonment Board Kindergarten School, Dalhousie Cantt. The event was held in anticipation of World Blood Donor Day, observed on June 14.

The camp was inaugurated by Lieutenant Colonel P. V. Bharat, who praised the Cantonment Board for this humanitarian initiative. Lieutenant Colonel Ajay Sehgal, the president of the Dalhousie Cantonment Board, attended as the distinguished guest and commended the community participation and support from local administration.

Under the theme “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together, We Save Lives!”, the camp focused not only on blood collection but also on spreading awareness about the significance of regular and voluntary blood donation. Enthusiastic participation was observed from army personnel, Cantonment Board employees, NCC cadets, local residents, and the general public of Dalhousie.

A total of 50 units of blood were collected during the camp, which were sent to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Chamba, to help patients in need.

On this occasion, CEO Mabel Christian expressed gratitude to all donors and volunteers, stating, “Blood donation is the most selfless act a person can perform. Every drop donated today can become the lifeline for someone tomorrow. I am proud of the people of Dalhousie for stepping forward and making this camp a success.”

The venue was adorned with motivational posters and banners encouraging blood donation, while a medical team was present throughout the event, conducting health screenings, ensuring safety protocols, and providing counseling services.

The Dalhousie Cantonment Board reaffirmed its commitment to public health and assured that similar health camps will continue to be organized in the future to build a stronger, healthier, and more compassionate society. Special appreciation was extended to the Chief Medical Officer, Chamba, and Pt. JLN Medical College, Chamba, for their cooperation.

Dalhousie Cantonment Board’s nominated member, Vinod Mahajan, was also present during the event.
