Chamba: Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania on Sunday lavished praise on The Newz Radar while attending the TNR-Shining Star Awards 3.0, an event held to honour meritorious students in Chamba on Sunday (June 8, 2025).
Calling the platform “a celebration of tomorrow’s leaders,” Speaker Pathania, who graced the occasion as the chief guest, said he was deeply honoured to be a part of the occasion and grateful to the entire The Newz Radar team for extending such a warm welcome.
“I am thankful to The Newz Radar Executive Editor Sunil Chadha, Political Editor S. Gopal Puri, Chamba correspondent Subhash Mahajan and all team members for inviting me to this meaningful event,” Pathania said, addressing the gathering that included dignitaries, students, parents and teachers.
Referring to the unique name of the platform with a touch of humour, Pathania remarked from the stage: “First it’s news, and then it’s radar — the creativity and combination are both praiseworthy. This says that news is always being produced… but produce news that always remains on the radar.”
The function was also attended by local MLA Neeraj Nayyar, members of the district and police administration, top officials of other departments and community leaders.
Speaker Pathania lauded the initiative for recognising young talent and said platforms like the TNR-Shining Star Awards can shape the future of the state and country by motivating future administrators, judges, politicians and thought leaders.
“This is not just an award function. It’s a foundation. The students you are honouring today will rise to top positions and shape the nation’s destiny. The Newz Radar deserves all praise for encouraging such brilliance,” he said.
Pathania also used the occasion to stress the importance of harmony among the three pillars of democracy — legislature, executive and judiciary. “All arms must coexist and respect each other. None is superior. All are meant to serve the public. And let’s never forget — the public is the greatest pillar of all,” he added.
The Shining Star Awards ceremony concluded on a high note, with heartfelt applause for the achievers — and for a media house that is ensuring real news and real voices stay on the radar.
Speaker Pathania honoured more than 400 meritorious students of Class 10 and Class 12 of various boards who had scored above 80 per cent in their board examination, the results of which were declared recently.
