Gaushala Crisis: More Critics Than Supporters, Step Up and Serve Too

Gaushala Crisis

Kangra: Renowned businessman and social worker of Himachal Pradesh, Pandit Ved Prakash Sharma, voiced his concerns on Friday regarding the dismal condition of animals at the Gaushala (cow shelter) located at the Kangra Bypass. His emotional statement followed the circulation of a viral video showcasing the poor state of the shelter.

Pandit Sharma, who also represents the Brahmin community in the state as the President of Brahmin Kalyan Parishad, addressed the growing criticism. He said, “Some people are deliberately trying to tarnish my image without knowing the truth. When it comes to service, no one steps forward, but when a flaw is found, everyone raises a finger.”

Sharma clarified that while he has been contributing to the operations of the Gaushala, it is not his primary responsibility. He pointed out that a few other individuals are involved in the effort but lack adequate support. “There are more critics than servants,” he emphasized.

Highlighting his efforts, Sharma mentioned that he has written multiple letters to the government, expressing that without proper assistance, he will be unable to continue his involvement in the shelter and may need to turn his focus to other social service activities. Despite this, the government, through the Deputy Commissioner, requested him to continue his service for a few more days.

He expressed deep concern over the issue and urged the government to take serious action. Sharma further remarked, “The time has come for the government to think seriously about this matter. Those who criticize should also come forward and contribute to the cause.”
