Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania dedicated the Kuna–Chaltuni–Bhith–Balera Water Supply Scheme to the public in Gram Panchayat Balera, Bhatiyat constituency. The scheme, reconstructed and expanded at a cost of ₹45 lakh, will provide clean drinking water to nearly 2,791 residents across 18 villages in Balera, Nainikhad and Jihunta panchayats.
Addressing a public gathering in Bhith village, Pathania reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring basic facilities in remote and difficult areas, including roads, healthcare, education and drinking water. He highlighted that over the past four years, crores of rupees have been spent on strengthening infrastructure in Bhatiyat, with ₹180 crore already invested in road construction and another ₹273 crore worth of projects underway. By the end of the current government’s term, nearly ₹500 crore will be spent on roads alone.
Pathania noted that the Jal Shakti Department is implementing multiple projects worth ₹900 crore by June 2027, with ₹174 crore already completed and ₹365 crore currently in progress. Proposals worth ₹564 crore have also been approved. He credited Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s special support for prioritizing development in Bhatiyat, covering roads, water, education, electricity, health and social services.
During the event, Pathania announced the transfer of a vacant primary school building to Navbharat Yuvak Mandal Bhith, and a grant of ₹25,000 to the local Mahila Mandal. He also assured that demands for link roads and other development works raised by panchayat representatives would be fulfilled.
The Speaker was warmly welcomed by villagers and honored by local representatives, including Panchayat leaders, officials of the Jal Shakti Department, and community organizations.
