Shimla: Himachal Pradesh’s political arena witnessed a fresh twist on Monday when BJP’s state media co-incharge, Rama Thakur, issued a scathing press statement countering remarks by Chief Minister’s Chief Media Advisor, Naresh Chauhan. Thakur accused the Congress government of misleading the public for two years with hollow guarantees, alleging that no substantial development had taken place on the ground.

Thakur labeled the Congress’s recent Bilaspur event a “political spectacle,” claiming it wasted crores of taxpayer money. She alleged that the event’s attendance was forced through misuse of government machinery rather than genuine public support.

Responding to Congress’s criticism of the BJP-initiated Jan Manch program, Thakur described it as a landmark initiative for addressing public grievances promptly. In contrast, she accused the Sukhu-led government of being all talk and no action, ignoring key issues such as youth unemployment, farmer distress, and stalled development projects.

Thakur highlighted Congress’s failure to deliver on its electoral promises of 5 lakh jobs and 1 lakh annual employment opportunities. Instead, she alleged, the government terminated 10,000 outsourced employees and abolished 1.5 lakh posts. Calling Chief Minister Sukhu’s claims of making Himachal self-reliant by 2027 “another hollow promise,” Thakur said the public had realized the government’s propaganda-driven approach.

Thakur reaffirmed BJP’s stand with the people of Himachal, promising to expose the Congress government’s failures and hold it accountable. She urged the government to focus on real issues rather than indulging in publicity stunts.

“False promises and wasteful expenditures won’t help Himachal,” Thakur concluded, pledging BJP’s commitment to amplifying public concerns and delivering impactful solutions.
