Panic spread among villagers in Churah subdivision of Chamba district after a Pakistani flag and more than 30 balloons were discovered in the Shurnala area of Gram Panchayat Himgiri on Sunday.
According to locals, the balloons bore the slogan “Dil Dil Pakistan”. Some of them had burst after colliding with trees, while several remained intact. Alarmed villagers immediately informed the police.
On receiving the information, a team from Tissa Police Station rushed to the spot and seized the balloons along with the flag and other material. The items have been taken into custody for investigation.
Confirming the incident, Superintendent of Police Chamba, Vijay Kumar Saklani, said:
“Police teams reached the location and secured the balloons and flag. Further investigation is underway.”
The sudden appearance of the Pakistani flag and balloons has created unease in the area, with residents demanding strict vigilance. Police are examining the recovered material and probing how it reached the region.
