Chamba MLA Neeraj Nayyar today interacted directly with BPL beneficiaries during public dialogue programmes held under the “Mukhyamantri Apna Parivar, Sukhi Parivar” initiative at Maihla and Sarol.

The events, organized by the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, brought together beneficiaries identified through BPL surveys conducted across phases 1 to 8. At Maihla, nearly 2,500 beneficiaries from 18 Gram Panchayats participated, while at Sarol, around 1,200 beneficiaries from 20 Gram Panchayats attended.

During the sessions, MLA Nayyar listened to people’s problems, suggestions, and needs, resolving several issues on the spot. He emphasized that the state government is committed to the holistic development of rural areas and to empowering poor and needy families through welfare schemes.

He informed participants about various initiatives, including the Mukhyamantri Sukh Aashray Yojana, and schemes related to agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and allied sectors. He highlighted the provision of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops like wheat, maize, turmeric, and milk, ensuring fair value for farmers and livestock owners.

Nayyar urged people to stay informed about government schemes and make full use of them to strengthen their families and achieve self-reliance. He also called upon panchayat representatives to play an active role in spreading awareness, noting that they are a crucial link between the government and the public.

He announced that a meeting of newly elected panchayat representatives will soon be convened under the chairmanship of the SDM Chamba, where they will be briefed on welfare schemes across departments.

Departmental officers present at the programmes also shared information about their respective schemes and facilities. MLA Nayyar appealed to residents to actively participate in such dialogues, openly share their concerns, and maximize the benefits of welfare initiatives to build empowered and self-reliant families.
