BJP state spokesperson Sanjay Sharma has strongly condemned the recent remarks made by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha, where he referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as “traitors.” Sharma said such language exposes Gandhi’s deep political frustration and “mental bankruptcy.”
He asserted that the RSS has always stood at the forefront during national crises—whether wars or natural disasters—and Congress, with its history of compromising national security, has no moral right to question the organization’s patriotism.
Recalling the 1948 Jeep Scam, Sharma said that while Indian soldiers were fighting Pakistan soon after independence, the Nehru government handed a dubious jeep contract to a small foreign firm without bank guarantees. Most vehicles never arrived, and those that did were unfit for combat. “This was nothing short of stabbing our soldiers in the back,” he remarked.
Sharma further highlighted how the main accused, V.K. Krishna Menon, was rewarded instead of punished—first inducted into the Cabinet and later made Defence Minister. He added that Menon’s flawed policies and neglect of military modernization led to India’s humiliation in the 1962 war with China, where soldiers fought without adequate weapons, clothing, or boots.
Contrasting the past with the present, Sharma said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India’s defence policies are now self-reliant and robust, with the armed forces equipped with modern weaponry and the nation’s borders fully secure.
He concluded by demanding that Rahul Gandhi apologize unconditionally to the people of India, the Prime Minister, and the RSS for his “disgraceful” comments.
