Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma has expressed deep sorrow over the d*eath of a convicted youth inside Dharamshala Jail, calling for a fair and time-bound judicial inquiry to uncover the true cause of death and ensure justice for the bereaved family.
Sharma emphasized that any death in police or judicial custody is a matter of grave concern. He stated that in a democratic system, safeguarding human rights must remain paramount, and an independent judicial investigation is essential to dispel doubts surrounding such incidents.
He further said that if the administration has initiated a judicial probe, it must be conducted with complete impartiality and transparency, and its findings should be made public. He also urged that every possible assistance be extended to the deceased’s family.
Highlighting the atmosphere of anxiety in the region, Sharma noted that the public deserves to know the truth. He urged the state government to bring all facts to light and ensure strict action against any officials found guilty of negligence or responsibility.
Extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, Sharma prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength for the family in this difficult time.
