To ensure free, fair, and peaceful conduct of the upcoming Panchayati Raj Institutions General Elections–2026, the second phase of election rehearsal was organized on Thursday at Government College Bharmaur. The program was chaired by Sub-Divisional Officer Bharmour and Returning Officer Vikas Sharma.
A total of 430 officials and staff participated in the rehearsal, including 6 Sector Officers, 31 Assistant Returning Officers, 88 Presiding Officers, 263 Polling Officers, and 42 reserve staff.
During the session, detailed and practical training was provided on various stages of the polling process. District Development Officer Tavinder Kumar addressed the gathering, emphasizing that elections are the cornerstone of democracy and every official’s role is crucial. He urged staff to absorb the training seriously and discharge their duties with dedication, vigilance, and transparency.
SDO and Returning Officer Vikas Sharma informed that polling in Bharmaur block will be held on May 26 and May 28, from 7 AM to 3 PM. The rehearsal covered procedures at polling stations, management of election materials, voting methods, and other essential guidelines.
The event was attended by District Development Officer Tavinder Kumar, Tehsildar Bharmour Tej Ram Bhardwaj, Tehsildar Holi Ajay Kumar, along with other officers and staff.
