Former BDC member of Garola and Ulansa panchayats, Pawan Sharma, has issued a heartfelt message to the people of the region, expressing gratitude and announcing his decision to step away from the ongoing Panchayat election process.
Sharma recalled that five years ago, the people had elected him with overwhelming support as BDC member, giving him the opportunity to serve. He also contested the election for Panchayat Samiti President, where he lost by just one vote, which he described as a testament to the people’s strength and backing despite political party influences.
During his tenure, Sharma claimed to have raised several pressing issues before the government, including shortage of teachers in schools, electricity and water supply, agriculture and animal husbandry concerns, healthcare facilities, and road connectivity. He emphasized that he always worked above party lines, regionalism, and caste politics, focusing solely on public service.
Expressing deep gratitude, Sharma said: “If I made any mistakes during my tenure, I request the people of Garola-Ulansa to forgive me as their son and brother.”
Highlighting that multiple candidates are contesting for the BDC member post this time, Sharma stated that he has decided not to enter the fray. He appealed to voters to rise above party, caste, and regional considerations and choose a candidate capable of addressing the problems of both panchayats.
Concluding his message, Sharma extended best wishes to all candidates in the upcoming elections and assured the people that he will continue to stand with them in their joys and sorrows in the future.
