Akshay Kapta makes stunning comeback for Jaipur national championship

Himachal Pradesh’s talented volleyball player Akshay Kapta has once again made history with his dedication and determination.
Akshay, who previously participated in the Indian camp, was dropped from Himachal Pradesh’s national team due to alleged conspiracies. This phase was one of the toughest in his career, but he refused to give up and remained focused on his game.
In the recently held trials, Akshay displayed such remarkable skill that not only was he reselected at the national level, but he was also appointed as the captain of the Himachal Pradesh volleyball team.
Speaking to the media, Akshay said, “This is a moment of pride for me. I treated every challenge as an opportunity and kept faith in my game. Now, my dream is to achieve new heights for Himachal Pradesh and India.”
His comeback has not only inspired his fans but has also become a source of motivation for the youth of Himachal Pradesh.

Senior nationals team selection amid controversy

The selection trials for the men’s volleyball state team for the senior nationals were conducted on Sunday in Shimla. Earlier, allegations of favouritism during the trials led to the process being repeated.
In the revised trials, 14 players were selected, while five were placed on standby. The selected players include Akshay Kapta, Dishant Raja, Raman, Rohit Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Jitendra, Sameer Jaswal, Arjun Sharma, Paras Pundir, Narinder Singh, Rajat Thakur, Kartik Verma, Ronit Tokarwan and Pramod. The standby players are Abhay, Ujjwal, Kartavya, Shivanshu and Ishan.
The selected team will represent Himachal Pradesh in the Senior National Volleyball Championship, scheduled to be held in Jaipur from January 7 to 13.

Players approach CM Sukhu with grievances

The decision to conduct fresh trials came after some players alleged favouritism, claiming that preferred candidates were being selected.
The players initially voiced their concerns on social media and later approached Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu with their grievances. Following the complaints, the sports department cancelled the previous trials and organised a fresh selection process.
