Club honoured with ‘World Record of Excellence’ at NIFA’s Samvedna-2 ceremony in Shimla

The Rotary Club Kullu has added another significant achievement to its record of community service, receiving the prestigious ‘World Record of Excellence’ for its contribution to a nationwide blood donation campaign.
The honour was conferred on the club by Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta at a grand Samvedna-2 felicitation ceremony organised by the National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists (NIFA) at Lok Bhavan, Shimla, recently.
The recognition acknowledges the club’s active participation in NIFA’s nationwide blood donation campaign organised on March 21, 2025, to mark the 94th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
The campaign was conducted on a massive scale, with blood donation camps organised at 1,055 locations across the country, resulting in the collection of more than one lakh units of blood. Kullu district became an important part of the campaign, with Rotary Club Kullu and Re-Imagine Zindagi jointly organising a one-day blood donation camp at the Regional Hospital.
As many as 45 blood donors from Kullu came forward during the campaign and made their contribution towards saving lives. In recognition of their efforts and sustained work in the field of social service and voluntary blood donation, both organisations were selected for the national-level honour.
The award was formally presented at the Shimla ceremony in the presence of a large gathering of social workers, Rotarians and representatives of organisations from across the country and Himachal Pradesh.
Rotarian Anshul Parashar, Assistant Governor, Rotary Himachal Zone, District 3070, said Rotary Club Kullu had consistently remained at the forefront of initiatives aimed at serving society, particularly in the field of voluntary blood donation.
He said the latest recognition was a matter of pride for every member of the club who had contributed towards its social service initiatives. “This honour belongs to every Rotarian associated with the club who has been working selflessly for the welfare of society,” he said.
The award also highlights the growing role of community organisations in promoting voluntary blood donation and building a culture of social responsibility. For Rotary Club Kullu, the recognition marks another milestone in its continuing efforts to serve the community through meaningful and life-saving initiatives.
Among those present at the ceremony were Rotarian Abhishek Sood, former General Secretary of Rotary Club Kullu; Chris Thakur, President of Re-Imagine Zindagi; member Nisha Thakur; NIFA Founder-President Pritpal Singh Pannu; National President Dr Ashwani Shetty; National General Secretary Brahm Swaroop Sharma; NIFA State Coordinator Tarun Dhiman, besides dignitaries and representatives of various organisations from across the country and the state.
