Local MLA Kewal Singh Pathania has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Shahpur for giving an overwhelming majority to Congress-supported councillors in the recently concluded Nagar Panchayat elections.
All newly elected councillors met the MLA at the Congress office in Rait, where they conveyed their unwavering trust in his leadership. Pathania welcomed them warmly with traditional Himachali shawls and caps, congratulating them on their victory.
Councillors Express Confidence in Leadership The councillors praised Pathania’s visionary and dynamic leadership, stating that his guidance has ushered in a new wave of development in Shahpur. They pledged to work collectively under his direction to take Shahpur to new heights.
Equal Development Across All 7 Wards Addressing the gathering, Pathania emphasized that with elections now over, the sole focus must be on development. He assured that Shahpur Nagar Panchayat will be developed as a model across the state, with equal attention to all seven wards, free from political bias. “Politics aside, the people’s welfare will remain our top priority,” he said.
Three Years of Transformative Work The councillors lauded Pathania’s three-year tenure, highlighting the unprecedented pace of development in the constituency. They expressed confidence that modern facilities will soon reach every household in Shahpur.
Historic Grants Worth ₹14 Crore On behalf of the people, the councillors extended gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and MLA Pathania for sanctioning ₹4 crore for an additional hospital building and ₹10 crore for an indoor sports complex and shopping mall. They termed these grants as historic gifts that will transform the region.
