Himachal Pradesh is witnessing a transformative shift in its healthcare infrastructure, thanks to a ₹950 crore health package from the central government. Vipin Singh Parmar, BJP State Vice President, former Speaker, Minister, and MLA, hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership for elevating the state’s medical capabilities to new heights.
Parmar stated that this historic investment—made possible through the foresight of PM Modi and BJP National President J.P. Nadda—will bring Delhi-level healthcare services to the hills. “The dream of delivering world-class treatment to every citizen in the mountains is now becoming a reality,” he said.
Key Highlights of the Health Package:
- ₹650 crore allocated for installing advanced medical equipment at IGMC Shimla, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College Tanda, Chamba, Nerchowk, and other major hospitals.
- ₹300 crore earmarked for building a state-of-the-art cancer institute in Hamirpur, poised to become North India’s leading cancer treatment center.
- Tesla MRI machines to be provided to medical colleges in Shimla, Tanda, Hamirpur, and Nerchowk.
- Robotic surgery systems to be installed at Mandi and Chamba medical colleges.
- 67 Model Health & Wellness Centres to be established in rural areas, ensuring modern healthcare reaches every village.
Parmar emphasized that this initiative is not just about expanding hospitals—it’s a true embodiment of public service. “With cutting-edge equipment and expanded facilities, people will no longer need to travel outside the state for serious treatments,” he added.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda for their continued commitment to Himachal’s welfare. “Their leadership has steered the state toward becoming a healthier, more prosperous, and self-reliant Himachal,” Parmar said.
The health package is expected to usher in a new era of medical excellence, making world-class treatment accessible within the state and empowering every district and village with high-quality healthcare services.
