A delegation of the Himachal Pradesh Vocational Trainers Welfare Association, led by State President Praveen Meghta, met Hon’ble Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at the Shimla Secretariat and submitted a detailed memorandum regarding the long-pending demands of Vocational Trainers working in government schools across the state.
The delegation included Co-President Monica Thakur (Women Wing), Vice President Suchita Sharma (Women Wing), Vice President Shailender Kumar Sharma (Former President, Outsourced Employees Federation), General Secretary Vijay Kumar, along with members of the state executive body and district presidents from various districts.
The Association urged the state government to formulate a permanent policy for Vocational Trainers who have been serving in government schools for the past 13 years. They also demanded the abolition of the outsourcing system and sought regularization by integrating Vocational Trainers into the Education Department.
The Association further requested that Vocational Trainers be provided respectable salaries on par with other states and that a provision for a 5% annual salary increment be implemented.
Association representatives stated that Vocational Trainers in Himachal Pradesh are currently receiving only ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 per month, whereas states like Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal are offering significantly better salaries and stronger job security to Vocational Trainers.
The organization also highlighted that Vocational Trainers are the only category of teachers in the Education Department that remains deprived of regularization despite rendering services for more than a decade. They added that there is no legal obstacle in this matter, as the Hon’ble High Court has also made positive observations in favor of outsourced employees who have completed over 10 years of service.
The Vocational Trainers expressed hope that the state government would consider their demands sympathetically and take an early positive decision to secure the future of thousands of trainers and their families. The Association conveyed confidence that the Chief Minister would understand the concerns of employees and take a historic decision in the interest of Vocational Trainers.
