Concerned over the deplorable state of several roads in the region, a delegation led by Advocate Shivendra Saini submitted a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of the Public Works Department (PWD), Haripur, demanding urgent repair and completion of pending construction works.
The memorandum highlighted the poor condition of the Guler–Nagrota Surian–Sakri road, Bankhandi–Basa–Maheba route, Haripur–Tatani–Bankhandi road, and the Guler–Nandpur–Ludret link roads. It was pointed out that despite construction work being initiated nearly 18 months ago, the projects remain incomplete. Deep potholes and broken surfaces have turned these stretches into accident-prone zones, causing daily hardships for residents, students, farmers, and commuters.
Advocate Saini urged the department to prioritize all pending road construction and repair works to ensure safe and smooth travel, while also reducing the risk of accidents.
Present on the occasion were Haripur Panchayat Pradhan Kamaljeet, Up-Pradhan Sandeep Sharma, Guler Panchayat Pradhan Varun Dhiman, along with several youth from the area. All unanimously demanded that the road works be completed without further delay.
Copies of the memorandum have also been forwarded to the PWD Minister, Himachal Pradesh, the Superintending Engineer (Dehra Circle), and the Executive Engineer (XEN), Dehra.
