Chamba: Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Himachal Pradesh spokesperson Manish Sarin has expressed disappointment over the state not even finding mention during the party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting held on March 21 (2025) in New Delhi.

In a statement, Manish Sarin said in the absence of any discussion regarding Himachal Pradesh in the crucial meeting, AAP workers in the state were feeling disheartened.

Manish Sarin emphasised that only a day before the PAC meeting, a delegation from the state, led by AAP Himachal Pradesh president, met the party’s national secretary in Delhi to discuss strategies to strengthen the party in the state.

Despite this, he said, the PAC meeting showed no focus on Himachal Pradesh, which he termed “unfortunate”. He expressed surprise over the fact that while AAP workers in Himachal Pradesh had been struggling for over 12 years, the state continues to be neglected by the central leadership.

Manish Sarin pointed out that even after the results of the Delhi Assembly elections, the state leadership requested a meeting with national convener Arvind Kejriwal, but was yet to receive any response.
“The delay and neglect seem to be the reason why, after 12 years, AAP still hasn’t made a significant impact in Himachal Pradesh,” he said.

Manish Sarin recalled the party’s performance in the 2022 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, where, despite lack of resources, AAP fielded 67 candidates without sufficient support from the central leadership.

He praised the party workers for their dedication to establishing AAP in the state but expressed that they had only received neglect from the top leadership in return.

He has urged the party’s central leadership to take immediate notice of Himachal Pradesh’s concerns, warning, “If attention is not paid to Himachal Pradesh soon, it may be too late.”
