Drug Crackdown: Four Youths Held with Heroin in Nurpur

In a major step under its ongoing anti‑narcotics drive, Nurpur Police arrested four youths after recovering 4.24 grams of heroin (chitta) during a naka checking operation. The police also seized the Alto car used in the trafficking.

Incident Details

At around 7:25 AM today, a police team was conducting routine checking near Chakki Pul, Kandwal. A black Alto car (registration number HP73A‑1965) was stopped for inspection. On searching the vehicle, police recovered 4.24 grams of heroin concealed inside.

Accused Identified

All four accused hail from Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh:

  1. Darvesh Nath, son of Mahindar, resident of Chukrasa village, PO Rari, Tehsil & District Chamba.
  2. Kamlesh Kumar, son of Ranjit Singh, resident of Kariya, Tehsil & District Chamba.
  3. Nitin Singh, son of Kapoor Singh, resident of Gurar village, PO Rakh, Tehsil & District Chamba.
  4. Vikas Kumar, son of Raj Kumar, resident of Kariya, Tehsil & District Chamba.

Legal Action

An FIR (No. 137/2026) has been registered at Nurpur Police Station under Sections 21, 25, and 29 of the NDPS Act. The narcotics and vehicle have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
