Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu celebrated his 61st birthday on Wednesday (March 26, 2025) in Shimla with a grand gathering of Congress workers and supporters at his official residence Oak Over.
The venue was packed with people who came to celebrate this milestone in the life of the Chief Minister, who has crossed the 60-year mark.
In a heartwarming moment, CM Sukhu cut an 80-kg cake and expressed his gratitude towards the crowd for their love and support.

Following the cake-cutting ceremony, he first fed a piece of cake to his daughter, followed by his wife Kamlesh Thakur and other notable figures, including local MLAs.
The celebration was marked by a shower of flowers from well-wishers, including Shimla Mayor Surendra Chauhan and other dignitaries who arrived to congratulate the CM.
The event also featured traditional folk music, with dhol and nagadas (drums) adding to the festive atmosphere at Oak Over. CM Sukhu’s supporters from various corners of the state also joined the celebration, performing the traditional ‘nati’ (Himachali folk dance) in high spirits.
Meanwhile, in Dehra, Congress workers celebrated CM Sukhu’s birthday by serving the needy.

Led by the nominated director of the KCC Bank, Congress leaders and workers distributed fruits to patients at the Civil Hospital in Dehra and wished them a speedy recovery.
Dehra holds special significance as it is the constituency of CM Sukhu’s wife and local MLA Kamlesh Thakur. The day saw a series of events held throughout the region, with Congress workers spreading joy and happiness across the city.
