15 pilgrims sustained injuries after a tempo traveller they were travelling in met with an accident in Bilaspur district on Wednesday. The devotees were returning after offering prayers at the revered Naina Devi Temple.
According to preliminary information, the vehicle—reportedly carrying pilgrims from Delhi—met with the mishap near Kola Wala Toba, in the vicinity of Santina Yatri Niwas. The exact cause of the accident has not yet been established.
Prompt Response Ensures Timely Rescue
Local residents were the first to respond, initiating rescue efforts even before the arrival of authorities. Soon after, a police team led by Kot police station in-charge Harnam Singh reached the spot and took charge of the situation, coordinating relief and evacuation measures.
The injured were promptly shifted to a nearby health facility with the assistance of ambulances and private vehicles. Medical personnel are currently attending to the victims, and most are reported to be under observation.
