The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Mandi Municipal Corporation elections, nominating contenders across all 15 wards. The list was released by state BJP president Dr. Rajeev Bindal, marking the party’s formal entry into the electoral fray.
As per the घोषित सूची, Ranveer Singh has been fielded from Khaliar ward, Sarita Handa from Old Mandi, Nirmal Verma from Paddal, Manju Devi from Nela, and Krishna Thakur from Mangwai. Virender Singh Arya will contest from Sanyard, while Jitender Singh has been nominated from Talyahad. Gurdeep Kaur and Suman Thakur have been given tickets from Palace Colony-1 and Palace Colony-2 respectively.
In the remaining wards, Neha Kumari will contest from Suhra, Jitender Sharma from Samkhetar, Gagan Kashyap from Bhagwahan, Rajni Sharma from Thaneda, Gurbachan Singh from Baihna, and Rita Devi from Dohandi.
A notable development in this election is the absence of former Mayor Virender Bhatt Sharma from the contest. Owing to changes in ward reservation, his ward has been reserved for women. As a result, he has chosen not to contest from any other ward, staying out of the electoral race this time.
With the announcement of candidates, political activity in Mandi has gained momentum, with all parties gearing up for what is expected to be a closely contested municipal election.
