The Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Sheetal Sharma has sentenced Sonu Kumar and Anita Devi to rigorous life imprisonment in the murder case of four‑year‑old Kairvi, registered at Shahpur Police Station. Both convicts have also been fined ₹1 lakh each.
The case began on July 26, 2024, when a complaint was lodged regarding the disappearance of the child. Investigations revealed that Kairvi had gone with Anita Devi and was later m*urdered. Acting on the disclosure of the accused, police recovered the child’s body. Forensic teams collected crucial evidence including clothes, sandals, stones, and other materials from the crime scene.
A post‑mortem examination was conducted, and DNA along with other scientific evidence was gathered. Witness statements further strengthened the case, leading to the filing of a chargesheet in court.
After evaluating the evidence, the court found both accused guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment with fines. The prosecution was successfully conducted by District Attorney Vivek Dogra.
