SHIMLA: The BJP legislature party held a meeting in Shimla under the leadership of Leader of Opposition and for Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, setting the stage for critical deliberations ahead of the upcoming budget session and the looming Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting served as a platform for the BJP to strategise its approach for the budget session and devise tactics to secure victory in the upcoming parliamentary polls.
During the session, the BJP articulated a comprehensive strategy aimed at holding the Congress government accountable on various fronts during the budget session. Notably, discussions centred on the closure of institutions established during the tenure of former Chief Minister Jai Ram, with the BJP poised to challenge the government’s decisions in the Assembly.
BJP spokesperson and MLA Rakesh Jamwal underscored the party’s commitment to adopting an assertive stance, emphasising the need to address instances of governmental discrimination and inefficiency.
Of particular concern was the alleged disparity in disaster relief efforts across the state, with accusations of favouritism and exclusion of eligible beneficiaries. Jamwal highlighted discrepancies in relief distribution, stressing the imperative of equitable access to resources and aid for all affected individuals.
The deliberations also encompassed strategies for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with a collective resolve among BJP MLAs to maximise efforts towards securing victory across all four constituencies. The meeting witnessed the active participation of prominent BJP leaders, including MLAs Satpal Singh Satti, Bikram Thakur, Sukhram Chaudhary and Hansraj.
“The meeting underscored the BJP’s unwavering determination to challenge the status quo and uphold the interests of the electorate, both within the legislative framework and at the ballot box. As preparations intensify for the impending sessions and elections, the BJP emerges poised for proactive engagement and assertive representation,” said a party leader.
