Rahul Gandhi’s Claim of Agency Leaks a Threat to National Security: Sanjay Sharma

TNR News Network
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh BJP spokesperson Sanjay Sharma has raised serious concerns over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent statement, terming it a grave threat to national security.

On 12 October, during a press conference at the Congress headquarters in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi claimed that over 200 officials from CBI, ED, MEA, and other central agencies were providing him with confidential information from within the government.

Sharma described the remark as “shocking and alarming,” stressing that if officials are leaking sensitive data to political leaders, it directly endangers the country’s security, sovereignty, and confidentiality. He demanded that Rahul Gandhi be immediately interrogated to reveal the identities of such officials and the nature of information being leaked.

📜 Violation of Supreme Court Order (2013): Citing precedent, Sharma recalled the 8 May 2013 Supreme Court ruling by Justice R.M. Lodha, which strictly prohibited external interference in the functioning of agencies like CBI—even from ministries or the Prime Minister’s Office. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s claim amounts to a direct violation of this historic order.

🔴 Key Demands Raised by BJP:

  1. Interrogation of Rahul Gandhi to disclose names of officials allegedly leaking information.
  2. High-level impartial investigation into the matter to safeguard confidentiality of central agencies and the MEA.
  3. Strict adherence to Supreme Court’s 2013 order ensuring autonomy and secrecy of investigative agencies.

Sharma concluded that the BJP will not tolerate any compromise on national security or disregard of Supreme Court directives, and will raise this issue prominently at every platform.
