Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania Holds Dialogue with Panchayati Raj Representatives in Bhatiyat

Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, chaired an interactive meeting with newly elected Panchayati Raj representatives at the Block Development Office auditorium in Bhatiyat today.

During the session, he engaged with Gram Panchayat Pradhans, Up-Pradhans, and BDC members on issues of rural development, governance, and public welfare. Pathania urged representatives to identify priority development needs in their respective areas and coordinate with departments to accelerate progress. He emphasized that Panchayat leaders play a vital role in addressing grassroots challenges and driving rural growth.

Highlighting the importance of impartial service, Pathania advised representatives to rise above political ideologies and focus on the genuine needs of their villages. He stressed that effective implementation of government schemes must ensure benefits reach the most vulnerable sections of society.

Pathania noted that Bhatiyat is the second-largest development block in Himachal Pradesh, comprising 71 Gram Panchayats. He pointed out that the block has achieved a leading position in Chamba district in terms of effective execution of rural development schemes, reflecting sustained efforts for community welfare.

He also discussed pending financial liabilities under MGNREGA, limited allocations under the 16th Finance Commission, and employment initiatives under the Viksit Bharat – Gramin Rozgar Evam Aajeevika Mission.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Mehra called for stronger coordination among representatives, officials, and citizens to ensure timely resolution of public issues. Block Development Officer Anil Gurada presented a detailed progress report on ongoing schemes.

The meeting was attended by State Cooperative Bank Director Rajkumar Chambiyal, Panchayat Samiti President Lalchand, SDM Manish Soni, Executive Engineer Rakesh Thakur, Narendra Chaudhary, departmental officials, and Panchayati Raj representatives.
