Preparations Underway for Independence Day Celebrations in Kangra

A meeting to review preparations for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations was held today at the SDM office in Kangra under the chairmanship of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dr. Anjali Garg. Officials from various departments participated in detailed discussions to ensure the successful and dignified conduct of the event.

Dr. Garg announced that the Independence Day ceremony will be celebrated with great enthusiasm on August 15 at the SDM office premises in Kangra. The program will feature flag hoisting, a march-past, the national anthem, cultural performances, and the felicitation of individuals who have made notable contributions in different fields. In case of rain, the event will be shifted to the auditorium of GAV Senior Secondary School.

The SDM directed all department heads to complete arrangements within the stipulated time. She emphasized proper management of cleanliness, drinking water, electricity, stage and seating, sound systems, traffic control, and security. She also instructed schools and institutions selected for cultural performances to ensure timely rehearsals.

Highlighting the importance of the occasion, Dr. Garg said, “Independence Day is a festival of national pride. All departments must work with coordination and responsibility to make the celebration memorable.”

Among those present at the meeting were Block Development Officer Parul Katiyar, Tehsildar Prakash Chand, BMO Tiara Dr. Vikram Katoch, Naib Tehsildar Raman Kayastha, Trade Association President Ved Sharma, Dr. Suresh Sharma, Keshav Sharma, Ashwini Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Anil Kumar, Sumesh Kumar, Brijesh Gupta, DR Sagar, Ashish Mehta, Praveen Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Anurag, Shweta, and other officials from concerned departments.
