The Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) officially released the prospectus for its Distance and Online Education Centre’s July 2026 session. The release was conducted by Vice Chancellor Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal in the presence of senior university officials including Prof. Pradeep Kumar (Dean Academic Affairs), Prof. Narendra Sankhyan (Registrar), Prof. Vishal Sood (Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education), Prof. Suman Sharma (Secretary to Vice Chancellor), Prof. Jitendra Garg (Controller of Examinations), Dr. Chaman Kashyap (Associate Director), and Dr. Harish Gautam (Assistant Director).

Established in January 2025, the Centre has successfully conducted two sessions — July 2025 and January 2026 — attracting students from Himachal Pradesh and other states. Prof. Bansal emphasized that the Centre’s mission is to make higher education accessible to every learner. Currently, online programs are offered in five subjects: MCA, MBA, M.A. History, M.A. Economics, and M.A. Political Science. The growing enrollment reflects the enthusiasm of working professionals and students who wish to pursue degrees alongside their jobs.

The Vice Chancellor highlighted that the MBA program offers 500 seats, MCA 200 seats, while M.A. programs have unlimited intake. The university has kept fees affordable to reduce financial burden on students. He added that both government and private sector employees are enrolling in large numbers, and under UGC guidelines, students can now pursue two degrees simultaneously. Examinations are conducted entirely online in both Hindi and English, and no NOC is required for employed candidates.

Prof. Vishal Sood informed that admissions for the July 2026 session are now open through the Samarth portal (https://cuhimachalcdoeadm.samarth.edu.in/), with the last date for applications being September 1, 2026. He also noted that the help desk (9418141564) is receiving daily inquiries, reflecting the growing interest in online education among students who wish to balance learning with employment.
