Guru Nanak Public School-Dalhousie students shine Bright at TNR-Shining Star Awards in Chamba

Chamba: Students of Guru Nanak Public School, Dalhousie, made their presence felt in a big way at the prestigious TNR-Shining Star Awards 3.0 held in Chamba on Sunday (June 8, 2025), clinching honours for academic excellence.


Their stellar performance brought laurels not only to the school but also highlighted the growing educational spirit in the region.


The TNR-Shining Star Awards, organised to honour meritorious students, witnessed enthusiastic participation from schools across the Chamba district. Among them, Guru Nanak Public School students stood out with their exceptional board exam results, earning applause from dignitaries and educationists present at the event.


School Principal-cum-owner Navdeep Bhandari lauded the students, parents and teachers for the achievement. The school was founded by Navdeep Bhandari’s father MS Bhandari.
The Chamba event was organised at the iconic Darbar Hall at Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College and was packed with people.


Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania graced the occasion as the chief guest.
While presenting the awards, the Speaker exhorted the meritorious students to continue their success streak and, thereafter, work towards bringing positive change in the society.


This year’s Chamba event, which had drawn overwhelming participation in 2024, was grander and more inspiring. The awards function drew hundreds of students, parents and education stakeholders from across the region.

80% cut-off for Class 10, 12 students

For this year’s Chamba leg of the awards, students who scored 80% and above in Class 10 and Class 12 board exams (all boards and streams) were eligible for recognition. The awards aim to appreciate students not only for their academic excellence but also for their determination and commitment in an increasingly competitive environment.


The inaugural event in Dharamshala witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of over 1,000 students, parents, teachers and dignitaries. Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri graced the occasion as chief guest, felicitating around 650 students who scored 85% and above in their Class 10 and 12 board examinations.
