Police in Nurpur district have made another breakthrough in the Bhadroya heroin trafficking case, arresting a fourth accused through forward linkage investigation. The case dates back to May 15, 2026, when 41.40 grams of heroin was seized from a mother-son duo in Bhadroya under FIR No. 93/2026 at Police Station Damtal.

Arrest Details: The accused, Saurabh Raina (27), son of late Janak Raj Raina, resident of Ward No. 7, Mohalla Niyazpur, Nurpur, was arrested on June 9, 2026, near the court complex in Nurpur Bazaar. Action is being taken under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.

Case Background: On May 15, the CIA team recovered 41.40 grams of heroin hidden under a sewing machine in a residential house at Bhadroya, arresting Vanita Devi and her son Aman on the spot. During investigation, police exposed the backward linkage (source of narcotics) and arrested Manmohan Singh alias Biru. Now, moving forward in the chain, police have nabbed Saurabh Raina, linked as a buyer in the syndicate.

Next Steps: The accused is being produced before the court, and police will seek remand to trace other buyers and connections in the network. Nurpur police emphasized that strict action will continue against both backward and forward linkages to dismantle the narcotics syndicate completely.
