A meeting of the Special Area Development Authority (SADA) was convened at the Bharmour Sub‑Division Headquarters on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of SADA, Mukesh Repswal, chaired the session virtually.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner discussed in detail the ongoing works under SADA, sources of revenue, and issues related to development and sanitation in the region, while issuing necessary directions to concerned officials.
Sub‑Divisional Magistrate (NA) Bharmour, Vikas Sharma, briefed the meeting on various activities and upcoming plans. He informed that during the financial year 2025‑26, SADA generated revenue of approximately ₹40 lakh. To further strengthen sanitation arrangements, from July 1 a monthly sanitation fee of ₹100 will be charged from shops and ₹50 from residential houses.
He also announced that a Green Tax will be levied on vehicles entering Bharmaur from July 1, aimed at environmental protection and cleanliness. The rates will be ₹50 for two‑wheelers, ₹100 for cars, ₹300 for SUVs/MUVs, and ₹500 for buses. Vehicles registered with RLA Bharmaur, those belonging to local residents, and local taxi union vehicles will be exempt. Special passes will be issued for vehicles commuting daily between Bharmaur and Khadmuq.
With the implementation of Green Tax, an additional revenue of nearly ₹70 lakh is expected during the tourist season, which will be utilized for development and environmental conservation works.
It was also decided that the maintenance of public toilets under SADA will now be managed by the respective Panchayats.
The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Vijay Nag; Assistant Engineer, PWD, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma; Assistant Engineer, Electricity Department, Krishan Kumar; and other officials.
