On the occasion of International Workers’ Day, a legal literacy camp was organised at the Bhalei Mata Temple premises under the aegis of the Legal Services Authority. The program was presided over by District and Sessions Judge Anuja Sood.
Judge Sood highlighted the importance of May 1 as a day dedicated to honoring workers worldwide, recognizing their rights, fair wages, safe working conditions, and social security. She also emphasized the role of women’s empowerment in building a strong and prosperous nation.
Secretary of the Legal Services Authority, Ekansh Kapil, informed participants about the free legal aid services available to marginalized groups, including women, children, industrial workers, persons with disabilities, and victims of natural disasters or exploitation. He urged citizens to avail themselves of assistance through the toll‑free helpline 15100.
Traffic Magistrate Dr. Parth Jain addressed the gathering on road safety, stressing the importance of helmets, seat belts, and adherence to traffic rules. He warned against speeding, overloading, and driving under the influence, noting that violations under the Motor Vehicles Act carry penalties.
The camp provided valuable awareness on fundamental rights, duties, and safe practices, reinforcing the commitment to justice, equality, and responsible citizenship.
