Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal today carried out a detailed site inspection regarding the proposed construction of a lift to Chaugan No. 1.
During the inspection, three potential sites—Bus Stand, Tatwani, and Kaskada—were closely examined. Key factors such as technical feasibility, accessibility, safety measures, land availability, and public convenience were thoroughly reviewed. Discussions with officials focused on identifying the most suitable and practical location for the lift project.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that a comprehensive estimate will be prepared and submitted to the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Departmental formalities are being expedited, and all concerned departments have been directed to conduct detailed technical evaluations and submit feasibility reports at the earliest, ensuring timely progress of the project.
In addition, DC Repaswal inspected the proposed site for a puja ghat near Sheetla Temple along the Ravi River. He also reviewed ongoing repair work on the historic Sheetla Bridge, which was damaged due to heavy rainfall, and instructed officials to ensure quality and timely completion.
Present during the inspection were District Tourism Development Officer Rajiv Mishra, Executive Engineer Joginder Sharma, and other departmental officials including Jitendra Sharma and Meet Sharma.
