The Himachal Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, accusing his government of financial mismanagement, broken promises, and prioritizing election campaigning in Bihar over the state’s pressing issues.
Advocate Vishwachakshu, BJP’s state media co-incharge, alleged that the Sukhu-led Congress government is built on “lies, excuses, and deception.” He claimed that despite promises of contractor payments before Diwali, the treasury remains shut, development is stalled, and citizens are struggling for basic services like electricity and water.
“Files are gathering dust in the treasury while the Chief Minister is busy delivering speeches in Bihar. This is a government of propaganda, not performance,” Vishwachakshu said.
He criticized the government’s failure to deliver on its flagship promise of ₹1500 monthly assistance to women, calling it “the biggest lie.” According to him, not a single woman has received the full benefit, and the registration drive was merely a political gimmick.
The BJP leader further alleged that other guarantees — including employment for every household, permanent implementation of the old pension scheme, and startup support for youth — remain unfulfilled. Yet, CM Sukhu is “selling these falsehoods” in Bihar to boost Congress’s prospects.
“When Himachal’s treasury is closed, contractors are protesting, and employees are agitating, the Chief Minister is chasing applause on Bihar’s election platforms,” he added.
Vishwachakshu accused the Congress government of turning Himachal into a “laboratory of financial collapse and stalled governance.” He claimed that no MLA funds are being released, panchayats are starved of resources, and development schemes are frozen.
He also alleged that the government is using the Disaster Management Act and poor road conditions as excuses to delay panchayat elections, despite roads damaged in the 2023 disaster remaining unrepaired for two years.
Calling the Sukhu administration “inept, deceptive, and theatrical,” Vishwachakshu announced that the BJP will soon launch a statewide public movement against the government’s alleged failures and economic mismanagement.
“The countdown for the Sukhu government has begun. The people of Himachal are ready to settle the score with the truth,” he concluded.
