Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government on Sunday appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in the districts of Sirmaur, Bilaspur and Lahaul-Spiti as it transferred 17 IAS and four HAS officers.
Priyanka Verma, who was serving as Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Sirmaur (headquarters Nahan).
Rahul Kumar, earlier the DC of Lahaul-Spiti, will now take charge as DC of Bilaspur.
Kiran Bhadana, previously Director of the SC/OBC/Minority and Specially Abled Empowerment Department, has been posted as the new DC of Lahaul-Spiti (headquarters Keylong).
Sumit Khimta, who served as the DC of Sirmaur, has been appointed as Director, Scheduled Caste, Backward Class and Minority Welfare Department.
Several high-ranking IAS officers handling departmental portfolios have also been reassigned. Dr Nipun Jindal, who was Director of AYUSH, will now serve as Director of Digital Technology and Governance. He will also continue to hold his existing role as Managing Director of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC).
Abid Hussain Sadiq, the outgoing DC of Bilaspur, has been appointed as Managing Director of the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.
Dr Pankaj Lalit, who was Director of Language, Art and Culture and also holding the additional charge of Secretary, HP Language, Art and Culture Academy, Shimla, has now been appointed Director of Women and Child Development, Shimla.
Reema Kashyap, who held additional charge as Managing Director of the HP Financial Corporation, has been posted as Director, Language, Art and Culture Department, and Secretary, HP Language, Art and Culture Academy.
Among other changes, Pradeep Kumar Thakur, previously serving as Settlement Officer, has been appointed as the new Mission Director of the National Health Mission, Himachal Pradesh.
Ritika, Director of Land Records, will now serve as Commissioner of the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation and will additionally take charge as CEO-cum-MD of Dharamshala Smart City Limited.
The reshuffle also includes appointments at the sub-divisional and additional deputy commissioner levels.
Om Kant Thakur, SDM-Mandi, has been posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development)-cum-Project Director (DRDA), Bilaspur.
Abhishek Kumar Garg, SDM-Bilaspur, will now serve as ADC (Development) in Hamirpur, and will also hold additional charge as Commissioner, Hamirpur Municipal Corporation.
IAS officers awaiting postings have also been accommodated, with Rupinder Kaur being made SDM-Mandi and Dr Rajdeep Singh being posted as SDM-Bilaspur. Vijay Vardhan, who was awaiting appointment, will now serve as Secretary of the HP Board of School Education, Dharamshala.
In the HAS cadre, four officers have been moved to new roles. Pankaj Sharma, earlier General Manager (Administration/Projects) at Shimla Smart City Ltd., has now been posted as Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) in Shimla.
Manish Kumar Soni has been transferred from Assistant Settlement Officer, Shimla Division, to Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Dharamshala.
Amit Kalthaik has been transferred from SDM-Anni in Kullu to SDM-Rekong Peo in Kinnaur. Kulwant Singh Potan, SDM-Sujanpur in Hamirpur, will now serve as SDM-Dehra in Kangra district. Additionally, Sanjeet Singh will hold temporary charge as SDM-Sujanpur until further orders.
