Bus carrying Himachal pilgrims back from Maha Kumbh attacked with stones in UP’s Sultanpur

A bus carrying pilgrims from Nahan in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district was attacked with stones while returning from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
The incident occurred near Bhadoi Bhaironpur in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh when two buses filled with devotees were en route back from their pilgrimage to Ayodhya, Kashi and Prayagraj.
According to eyewitnesses, an unidentified person suddenly hurled a stone at one of the buses, shattering its front windshield.

Dozen men armed with sticks come to attacker’s aide

The assailant attempted to flee but was quickly caught by some of the passengers. However, around a dozen men armed with sticks emerged from a nearby wooden stall to aid the stone-pelter, allowing him to escape.
The passengers immediately informed the local police, who arrived promptly at the scene. A complaint was registered through Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s helpline, prompting further police intervention.

Bus remains stranded for nearly five hours

Rajesh Parmar, Sanjay and Vijay, passengers on the affected bus (registration number HR62A-3731), reported that approximately 60 devotees were travelling in the vehicle.
The bus was halted near Bhadoi Bhaironpur around 12.30 pm and remained there for nearly five hours due to the police investigation, while the second bus continued its journey without delay.
